Nice to see you here!
“Living to the Fullest” in Spirit, Mind and Body is Donnie Gallagher's first Alt/Indie/Americana record with a sprinkle of rhythm and blues…all influenced by the music of the recording revolution of the ‘70s.
Whether alone contemplating his morning muse or cycling, hiking or climbing to new heights, Donnie invites you to enjoy his next musical journey…hoping that you too, live to your fullest.
Donnie grew up one of two sets of twins in a family of eleven sharing a mostly “chill” two-bedroom inner-city double-decker house filled with song and laughter. His folks, siblings, coaches and counselors always emphasized that “a singing camp is a happy camp.” Donnie’s closest friends all played music together at college in western Massachusetts, the Florida Keys and the mountains of Colorado.
After his time as a community-organizer in Boston, and a decade and a half as a fish monger/restaurateur, Donnie feels blessed to live in Amherst, MA. He has begun to immerse himself in the always changing Happy Valley music scenes of Northampton and nearby cities and towns.
His Maine, Irish and Native roots speak to his music. “Island Lady” was written for his “Ma” on the eve of his “Grammy's” funeral in a small church near Acadia on Mount Desert Island.
On a remote forested Islet nearby, Donnie's “Poison Poseidon and Promises” sends a fisherman (dory man) struggling with opioid substance abuse, home to where his “love waits in hope this time,” “his addictions to be left behind” ...Donnie's cover of Joni Mitchell's “Urge For Going” will take you further down the trail.
Donnie's first full-length album, “Living to the Fullest” is sure to tug at your heartstrings. Expect his music to take you on a “Ramble Down Two Roads” with his talented musical friends. Donnie is grateful for their inspiration and the love and support of his family, of which you are now part.
